Second edition of The Federalist in a contemporary binding, the last edition issued in Alexander Hamilton's lifetime. This edition is revised and corrected with numerous additions, and contains a printing of the United States Constitution including the first 11 amendments, as well as Hamilton's series of essays penned under the name Pacificus. Significantly, it is the first edition to identify Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay as the authors, and what essays they had written. “Clearly written by Hamilton partisans, it gives more authorial credit to Hamilton than modern scholarship cedes him” (Reese).
