Provenance: Estate of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Wister, Oldwick, New Jersey.

Descended in the Wister family to the present owners and believed to have hung in the Wister family ancestral home, Grumblethorpe, in Germantown, Philadelphia, now a National Historic Landmark.
